Objective

The concept behind gigi trading is to turn unwanted items (gigis) into a source of amusement with your friends. The game is loosely based around points, though the real objective is to play practical jokes on each other and earn smack-talking rights. Since everyone has a few gigis lying around that they’d like to get rid of, anyone can play.

The Rules

To become a GigiTrader, you must receive an invitation from an existing player, and agree to follow the basic rules:

1. Anyone may create a new gigi. A gigi can be anything, though it must be undesirable in some key way.

2. If you receive a gigi, you may not throw it away. You may only get rid of it by playing it on another player.

3. You earn points by playing gigis on other players. The longer it takes for a recipient to find your gigi, the more points you earn.

4. Bragging and smack-talking rights multiply for particularly clever or daring plays. For examples, see our leaderboard.

The Website

The GigiTraders website allows you to view gigis, report a trade (whether it's one you played or one that was played on you), read stories about trades, and track the location and progress of various gigis as they travel around the world.

When you become a member of the online gigi trader network, you also receive an online account where you can register new gigis, view your gigi score, and unlock a number of unique gigi achievements. See how you stack up against your friends and other global gigi traders! To become a member, you just have to sign up.
